I am on a rather wonderful 2 year operatic odyssey in Berlin.

There won’t be any operas from me in Days Bay this summer, however I do intend to resume producing operas in New Zealand, on my return.

I began my Berlin experience with an internship to Komische Oper, on a rather wonderful new production of Korngold’s Die Tote Stadt directed by Robert Carsen. Komische Oper is amazing, a beautiful house with an exceptional acoustic, an ensemble of great singers and the brilliant Barrie Kosky at the helm. It is a welcoming, inclusive and vibrant place with  dedicated people working together to produce great opera.

Riding my bike home after evening rehearsals, operas or concerts, could be my definition of bliss!
